“As the 2016 Flying Scotsman pulls into the terminus and the passengers disembark tired but happy, the train crew aren’t sitting back in the lounge car resting on their laurels. They already have their eye on the next outing.
The station masters, the track workers and the mechanics of the Endurance Rally Association are already working on the route and schedule for the 2017 excursion and are busy getting the engine and carriages ready for the next running of the toughest Vintageant rally on the calendar. A heady mixture of highways, byways, navigational sections and closed road tests will once again mark the Flying Scotsman out as Britain’s Premier competitive Vintageant rally event.
Departing from Slaley Hall on Friday 31st of March this 9th running of the now iconic Flying Scotsman Rally will be another epic adventure set in the glorious and big sky countryside of the North of England. Three days of open road, high class and open top motoring will once again bring us to the magnificent Gleneagles Hotel and another warm Scottish welcome.”
