“Welcome to the 2014 Exmoor Endurance Rally organised by Tavern, Burnham-on-Sea and Minehead Motor Clubs on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October 2014.

This year sees the format of the event remaining very similar to 2012. The format will run as follows: The start will be in Taunton, just off Junction 25 on the M5. The first car will leave at 11.00. Lunch and Supper halts will be at the excellent Raleghs Cross, with the finish back at the Holiday Inn Express, Taunton just before midnight. The bar at the hotel will stay open to residents as long as we keep ordering.

We have negotiated a rate of £65 per night at the Holiday Inn Express for a double/twin room for either Friday and/or Saturday (see section 24 of the regs for details).

Meal tickets will be available for Raleghs Cross for £7.50 per meal, payable with the entry fee.

We have approximately 55 miles of top quality roads and tracks on Forestry Commission land, Crown Estates land and Porlock Hill.

There will also be a 50 mile road rally route, including approx. 8 miles of forestry roads.

Navigation will be by a combination of tulip road book, marked maps and six figure grid references (this year we will ensure the competitor has plenty of time to plot the route). The 8 miles of forest roads on the night section will be navigated by marked maps but extensive use will be made of ‘No’ boards placed in such a way that they will cost you time but not get you lost. The last competitive road section will end close to Taunton, maintaining the incredibly compact nature of the event.

For the novice we will again have a Clubmans event open to any member of Tavern Motor Club (temporary membership is available).

We have worked hard to keep the entry fee as low as possible and despite another year of increased forestry fees the entry fee is £265.
