“Welcome to the Bullnose Endurance Road Rally 2014.
After a couple of years off, the Bullnose is back! We’re pleased to be a round of the Sportway Tyres Endurance Rally Championship and are also running a Clubmans’ event for those without a Competition Licence.
Both events will comprise over 55 test miles including night time tests, plus a further 28 miles of Jogularity. All of the test venues are brand new to the event and most are new to motor sport. We’ve got a variety of sealed and loose surfaces offering 14 hours of genuinely challenging rallying. For those that remember past Bullnoses, we haven’t got a single stubble field this year – it’s May, not September, after all!
Rally HQ will be at Bicester Garrison in Oxfordshire. This all-in-one venue will host the start, finish and several test venues too. An important note: The Garrison is an active military base, so we require all competitors, officials and marshals to observe certain rules regarding security, video and photography. Please read and act on the requirements listed in SR25 and SR26. Failure to do so could result in entry to the Garrison being refused and even ejection/exclusion from the event. I cannot stress enough the importance of observing these rules.
To keep you fuelled up during the day, breakfast will be served at Rally HQ for a small fee in the morning and competitors can buy food and drink at the lunch halt too. We’ll be back at Rally HQ for an evening meal for those that purchase one as part of their entry and return there for the finish where the bar will be open as results are calculated and awards presented.
Finally, a couple of pleas. Firstly, the rally is supporting Help For Heroes this year and the organisers will be donating an amount from the event profits to this incredible charity. Any additional donations from competitors will be passed onto them as well.
Secondly, we need around 150 marshals to make the event happen. Please can you encourage friends and relatives to come out on the day – even if it’s only for the morning, afternoon or evening. More details in SR31.
That’s all for now. Early entries would be very much appreciated and we look forward to seeing all of you in sunny Oxfordshire at the end of May.
Simon Lassam, Clerk of the Course”
