“A round of the Autosessive HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship.

The Blackpalfrey Motor Club of Kent is pleased to welcome you to its annual historic road rally, The Hughes Rally. We are once again delighted to be a round of the Autosessive HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship. This year we have moved the event a few miles south-east, and we will be using a new Start/Finish venue, The Ashford International Hotel, close to the M20 junction 9 at Ashford, where you will receive a high standard of service and food.

This year we will again be running The Hughes Club Rally alongside the Hughes Historic Rally, a closed to club event for pre-1981 cars, and later cars accepted at the organisers’ discretion, avoiding the need for competition licences or strictly adhering to historic road rally car specifications. The Hughes Club Rally will be limited to a maximum of 20 cars which will compete on the same regularity sections and special tests as the Hughes Historic Rally.

The route will cover around 140 miles, venturing further into East Kent than we have done in recent years. During the day there will be a number of special tests at some classic venues as well as some new ones. The varied format of Hughes Rally regularity sections has always been well received and this year’s event will be no different, although the one traditional plot’n’bash section will not be anywhere near as tricky to plot as last year’s.

This year’s entry fee will include a light lunch and a hot meal at the finish.

A special rate for accommodation is available at the Ashford International Hotel which can be booked directly via tba and there are also many hotels and B&Bs nearby.
