“The event is run as a tribute to Mel Harries, a founder of the club who was tragically killed in a freak accident on the M4 before the club got off the ground.

This year we are also running the event in remembrance of Ian ‘Clŵb’ Williams. Ian was an active member of the club but was tragically killed in an incident in august this year. Ian was well known by all members and the rallying community and is a great loss to Ammanford motor club and indeed the rallying world. It has also been decided to present a perpetual award in memory of Ian ‘clŵb’ for the driver who is leading at petrol. As Ian was often in this situation in his well – known ARL, but due to bad luck and sometimes his flamboyant driving style he never managed to take over all spoils. The sheer numbers that turned up to give him a send – off is tribute to how popular Ian was. He will always be remembered ……
