“Welcome to the 2016 North Yorkshire Classic Rally.

This is the seventh running of this event by a team of experienced competitors from York Motor Club.

We will be based at the excellent start/finish venue, the Hawkhills, near Easingwold, North of York (100/536676). It is a beautiful venue in lovely grounds with great rooms, a bar and lots of space to park, sit, chat and plot the evening before the event. Accommodation and evening meals are available at the venue.

Scrutineering will be at John Ruddock’s garage in Tholthorpe (100/479671) and the measured mile will be between scrutineering and signing on, for convenience.

This year we are again heading up into the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside to show you some of our hills and moors. Following fantastic competitor feedback from last year’s event we are pleased to be visiting Duncombe Park again with great tests on the rally stages in the grounds of the house, Tholthorpe airfield, and a couple of new test venues.

The event will include up to twelve varied driving tests on sealed and broken tarmac. These will be linked by five regularity sections, all timed to the second, giving nearly 100 regularity miles in a total of 145. Road surfaces are deemed to be suitable for this type of event.

Navigation clues will be varied with a mixture of pre-plot and plot-and-bash sections. This makes our event a favourite with both masters and novices, drivers and navigators.

The entry fee for this year will be £125 and this includes morning coffee, lunch and evening meal for both crew members.

We are the 2nd round of the 2016 HRCR Hagerty Insurance Road Rally Championship and a qualifying round of the HRCR Premier Rally Championship.”
